Abstract

difficult. Limitations in the classical management actions become clear as well as verified how hard are to planning and to control activities in organizations. In this way, the main objective of this paper is to characterize the PPC – Production Planning and Control – in the Clinical Analysis Sector by the University Hospital, under the view of complexity adaptive system. To reach the general objective were set the following specific objectives: to describe the process of PPC; to identify emerging no linear demands in the execution of PPC; to explain the mechanism incorporated to PPC according complexity theory. Methodological procedures can be characterized such as a transversal case study essentially exploratory descriptive. Primary data were collected by semi-structured interviews and no participant observation. While primary data were analyzed by vertical a horizontal method, secondary data were analyzed by documental and bibliography method. Results indicate that the production system from the local researched presents characteristics of a complexity adaptive system, where were observed principles that take to self autonomy actions and systemic auto organization.
