In this way, the main objective of this paper is to characterize the PPC – Production Planning and Control – in the Clinical Analysis Sector by the University Hospital, under the view of complexity adaptive system. To reach the general objective were set the following specific objectives: to describe the process of PPC; to identify emerging no linear demands in the execution of PPC; to explain the mechanism incorporated to PPC according complexity theory. Methodological procedures can be characterized such as a transversal case study essentially exploratory descriptive. Primary data were collected by semi-structured interviews and no participant observation. While primary data were analyzed by vertical a horizontal method, secondary data were analyzed by documental and bibliography method. Results indicate that the production system from the local researched presents characteristics of a complexity adaptive system, where were observed principles that take to self autonomy actions and systemic auto organization.
