Abstract

This study aimed to evaluate the influence of the COVID-19 pandemic in general aspects during the activities of daily life of athletes of sports jiu-jitsu. This is a descriptive study, with a cross-sectional design. A total of 118 male sports jiu-jitsu athletes were included. The data were obtained through an online questionnaire, which reported information regarding anthropometric characteristics and changes in lifestyle during the pandemic. From the collected data, percentage measures, means and standard deviation were calculated. It was found that the item with the greatest impairment was the sports training routine, affected in 96.6% of cases. In contrast, the items with the lowest rates of change due to the pandemic were the occurrence of health problems in the period (15.2%) and self-esteem (9%). Such data are of particular relevance in providing clinicians and researchers with diagnoses about a specific population during the pandemic period, which allows understanding of issues relevant to further suggestions regarding the management of strategies that address, improve and improve the gaps found, providing better psychosocial conditions, maintenance of health levels and sports performance in the post-pandemic period.
