The study aimed to verify the intentionality in teaching life skills (LS) through sports by coaches of extracurricular teams in schools in a city in Southern Brazil. Nineteen coaches of extracurricular school teams participated in the study. The instrument used was the Portuguese Coaching Life Skills in Sport Questionnaire, comprising 36 Likert-scale questions ranging from 1 to 6, administered remotely through an online form. Descriptive analyses of frequency, mean, and standard deviation were conducted using statistical software. The findings indicate that participants perceive adopting implicit attitudes for the development of LS and also believe they discuss them with their students. However, some participants perceive not providing the practice of LS in training sessions nor transferring them to other contexts. It is concluded that there is still room for coaches to advance in the intentionality of LS work by adopting more explicit approaches that provide LS practice and transfer to other contexts, which may enhance positive outcomes.
