The aim of this study was to analyze the effect of chronotype on vertical jump performance in adolescent soccer players. Fifteen male participants, seven from the Under-15 category and eight from the Under-17 category, aged 12 to 17 years, and enrolled in the Unimontes Soccer School, took part in the study. Chronotype was determined using the reduced version of the Morningness–Eveningness Questionnaire, and motor performance was assessed through Squat Jump and Countermovement Jump tests using the Jump System Pro. Data were examined through descriptive and inferential statistics, adopting a significance level of p < 0,05. The results indicated a predominance of the intermediate chronotype and revealed a significant difference only in the Countermovement Jump, in which the Under-17 group showed higher values. The association between chronotype and performance was identified exclusively in the Countermovement Jump, and the effect observed may have been enhanced by the alignment between the testing schedule and the typical peak in physical performance for that time of day. These findings suggest that individual circadian characteristics may influence explosive actions that require greater neuromuscular coordination. It is concluded that chronotype may interfere with the explosive performance of adolescent soccer players, reinforcing the importance of considering biological factors when planning sports activities and structuring training practices during the developmental process.
