Associação entre rede social e frequência de atividade física em trabalhadores

Objetivo: investigar associação entre rede social e frequência semanal de atividade física em adultos trabalhadores de uma Universidade pública do Estado do Rio de Janeiro. Métodos: Trata-se de um estudo transversal, englobando uma amostra de conveniência de 183 trabalhadores terceirizados de ambos os sexos e diferentes cargos, com idade entre 21 e 72 anos. O IPAQ-versão curta e Índice de Rede Social de Berkman e Syme adaptado foram os instrumentos utilizados para mensurar a frequência de atividade física e rede social dos indivíduos, respectivamente. A associação entre os construtos foi investigada através de regressões de Poisson. Resultados: Associação significativa foi encontrada entre rede social e frequência de caminhada (RR = 1,27; IC95% = 1,0- 1,4) e atividade física de intensidade moderada (RR = 1,26; IC95% = 1,0-1,5) em adultos trabalhadores. Conclusão: Contudo, a rede social apresenta-se como um importante indicador para aumentar a frequência semanal de atividade física em adultos trabalhadores.
