Abstract

Nowadays, the world of work undergoes restructuring, new occupations appear and individuals migrate to new jobs. Nevertheless, some forms of activities still persist in this area. Women workers in activities linked to the textile and clothing industry is still in one of the occupations that remain in these transformations. Relying on the treatment and analysis of the information contained in the general census of 2000 and 2010, the purpose of this article is to characterize the women in this type of labor occupation in the West and South West Metropolitan Region of São Paulo.
