Psychological meaning of health as function of group contingencies, in two University Schools.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to identify cues of group contingencies that control verbal behavior of students affiliated to different groups, through the meaning of wards related to Healthe Sckness. The Study was undertaken in a Nursing and in a Psychology Schools, comparing data of groups in each school and between schools. The technique used was Osgoo's S.D. scales, applied in a sample of the population of first and fourth years of both schools. The values that may indicate contingencies in each school were obtained by interviews with members of boards of directions, and by questionnaires, it was identified values of different groups of professors. The results show that values may indicate contingencies controling verbal behaviors of students.
