Health needs & primary care: validation of the needs assessment tool

Health needs is easy to say but it is very difficult to recognize and do something about in health services in Brazil. This study aimed to validate needs assessments' tools built to be use to know how primary care services and family health team recognize population health needs. As a methodological study, we built tools based on a guide adopted to characterize primary care services and their family health team. We established a minimum percentage agreement of 85% among the 11 peers who participated in the study. It comprehended two phases: first was general validation and second the validation of items that didn't reach agreement score. The results allow to considerer validated the Tools to assess how primary care services and family health team recognize health needs of territory population. Finally these Tools will contribute to best practice in primary care services to qualify health assistance.Downloads
