This study is a discussion of some viewpoints toward Pan-Germanism in southern Brazil and its relation with racism. Ethnos and idiom, uses and customs are elements of identification and necessary to studies about historical diversity. Beginning with a reconstitution of the Pan-Germanic League's activities in Latin America, more specifically in Brazil, the author analyzes the strengthening of a patriotic and nacionalistic conscience of German immigrants. Using documents dated after World War I, new attitudes of the Teutonic descendents are revealed and discussed. The mythical construction of tne German heroic past is one of the issues.
