A eficácia da terapia cognitiva comportamental na prevenção de suicídio, uma revisão sistemática

Resumo

O suicídio está entre as principais causas de morte em todo o mundo. Há um grande esforço de profissionais de saúde e pesquisadores para estabelecer uma base sólida para sua prevenção. À luz da literatura atual, a Terapia Cognitivo-Comportamental (TCC) e as intervenções baseadas na TCC são consideradas eficazes no tratamento da depressão, a condição psiquiátrica mais frequente associada ao suicídio. No entanto, faltam evidências sobre a eficácia da TCC e de intervenções baseadas na TCC na redução da taxa de suicídios. Portanto, o objetivo da presente revisão sistemática é avaliar se essas intervenções são capazes de reduzir as mortes por suicídio. Para tanto, foram selecionados artigos no Scopus, Pubmed, Web of Science e APA PsycNet sobre o assunto. Após serem avaliados quanto à elegibilidade, 15 artigos foram incluídos. Os resultados confirmaram a eficácia da TCC e das intervenções baseadas na TCC na redução da tendência suicida. No entanto, mais estudos são necessários para confirmar sua eficácia na redução da mortalidade por suicídio. A morte por suicídio foi relatada em apenas dois estudos e apenas três artigos relataram investigar ativamente o suicídio entre os que abandonaram o estudo. Os dados limitados sobre morte por suicídio impedem a avaliação da eficácia da TCC e das intervenções baseadas na TCC na sua prevenção. Nesse sentido,sugere-se que estudos futuros incluam a morte como desfecho, bem como empreguem e descrevam métodos específicos para rastrear mortes por suicídio entre os drop-outs
