Câncer colorretal e qualidade de vida em pessoas adultas em cuidados paliativos: revisão da literatura

Resumo

Introdução: O câncer colorretal é uma das principais causas de morbidade e mortalidade em todo o mundo. No contexto do câncer colorretal, a qualidade de vida dos pacientes desempenha um papel crucial na orientação das decisões clínicas e no planejamento do cuidado. Objetivo: Avaliar a qualidade de vida em adultos com câncer colorretal em cuidados paliativos. Material e Método: Trata-se de uma revisão de literatura realizada nas bases de dados PubMed, LILACS e Web of Science, utilizando a seguinte estratégia de busca: “Colorectal Neoplasms (Colorectal Cancers OR Colorectal Tumor) AND Quality of Life AND Palliative Care AND Adult”. Resultados: Identificou-se um total de 495 artigos, dos quais 13 foram selecionados para compor esta revisão. A amostra é composta por 4247 pacientes, sendo a maioria do sexo masculino. Os resultados mostraram que pacientes adultos em cuidados paliativos com câncer colorretal apresentam baixa qualidade de vida. Os principais fatores que contribuíram para a baixa qualidade de vida destes pacientes foram fadiga, dor, dificuldades financeiras, ter conhecimento do estágio da doença/ do prognóstico; estar em tratamento não convencional ou ≥3ª linha; estar em estágio IV da doença, estar em tratamento paliativo, pensamentos intrusivos e baixo nível educacional. Conclusão: Pacientes com câncer colorretal em cuidados paliativos apresentam prejuízo na qualidade de vida, a qual é influenciada por diversos fatores relacionados à doença e ao contexto socioeconômico e emocional. Desta forma, é importante se pensar em estratégias para melhorar estes aspectos em pacientes com esta condição de saúde.
