Abstract

The frequency, the present possibilities of treatment and the early diagnosis of any tuberculous lesion of the nervous system are emphasized. The etiopathogenesis and the pathological anatomy are studied, and some of the more interesting points are emphasized.

Clinicai characteristics are described under three forms: diffuse subacute meningoencephalitis, hypertensive forms and tumoral forms. Clinical diagnosis, laboratory findings and differential diagnosis are considered; the most important of ali is the analysis of the cerebrospinal fluid, and the decrease of chlorides would have a more significant value.

Finally, the treatment is considered under the medicai and surgical viewpoints.
