Paragangliomas are rare neuroendocrine tumors that originate in specialized cells derived from neural crest cells. Carotid body tumors are rare and they must always be part of the differential diagnosis of the tumors in the cervical region. This report presents the case of a 24-year-old, female, with a complaint of a right cervical node. Surgical treatment was performed at the Padre Albino Hospital. The authors present a case of a carotid body paraganglioma, its clinical aspects, diagnosis and treatment.Downloads
