Yellow Fever is an infectious disease caused by the Yellow Fever virus (YFV), belonging to the genus Flavivirus. The disease is transmitted by arthropod bites and occurs exclusively in Central and South America and Africa periodically causing isolated outbreaks or epidemics of significant public health impact. The treatment of this disease is aimed at combating clinical symptoms, and there is no specific medicine against the virus. The present study made a survey of epidemiological and vaccine data in Brazil through a search in the main databases. It was observed that in 2017, with the most severe epidemic outbreak in the last 30 years, with approximately 800 reported cases, the Ministry of Health had as its strategy the intensification of vaccination in areas with imminent risk of virus circulation, distributing more than 17 million doses of the vaccine. However, the reemergence of Yellow Fever is a potential risk in cities with high population density of the urban vector, becoming a major public health problem.
