The high prevalence of psychic suffering in medical students may lead to mental disorders, use of psychoactive substances and harmful behavior, as well as impact on learning. These factors led the Faculty of Medical Sciences of Unicamp to create a mental health service (GRAPEME) for its students in 1996. Over the years, GRAPEME has changed its physical and human resources structure and its activities. Currently covers individual consultations, but also early interventions and prevention actions, to minimize suffering and improve the quality of life of its students.
