Abstract

This systematic review covered studies on high-dose vitamin D supplementation in the treatment of multiple sclerosis (MS). The objective was to analyze efficacy, safety, mechanisms of action, impact on disease progression, clinical guidelines, dosing recommendations, implications for clinical practice, and gaps in research. The methodology included a systematic search in indexed databases and strict study selection and analysis criteria. Results, included relevant findings, whether significant or not, and potential benefits of vitamin D in reducing symptoms and modulating MS progression, in addition to variability in safety and efficacy among treated patients. The conclusion emphasized the need for an individualized approach and new studies to guide clinical practices in MS. However it should be noted that the approaches presented here represent suggestions from the authors, based on literature findings, and not an established consensus in MS treatment.
