Neuroquímica das epilepsias

Abstract

The author makes a survey of the current knowledge on neurochemistry, in a dynamic point of view, for application to the neurophysiology of the epilepsies. The role of the excitatory and inhibitory systems and drugs, specially referring to gamma-aminobutyric acid, is studied. Considering these knowledge the author emphasizes the current tendency of neurophysiologists
to explain, on experimental grounds, the epileptic manifestations.
