Artificial cardiac stimulation is the best choice to treat sintomatic and severe bradiarrithmas. It is indicated in sick sinus syndrom, second degree atrioventricular block type Mobitz II and third degree AV block and in patients with combined intraventricular conductions defects what anatomic lesion is located distally to the His Bundle.
The eficace of this method is related with the adequated choise of stimulation system. Usually patients with prophilatic indication and second or third degree AV block receive ventricular pacing, however when myocardiopathies or coronariopathies are associated or in patients with sick sinus syndrom we must use physiologic pacing.
