Abstract

The text tries to clarify the peculiarities of the homeopathy that, in spite of being part of the Brazilian medical specialties since 1980, it is not taught in the major of the medical schools. Associated to this lacuna in the education of the students of medicine, the application of presuppositions distinct of those divulged by the hegemonic science contributes to the sowing of prejudices rooted to the medical culture, dispelling graduating and graduated people from the learning process of a bi-secular practice that should be incorporated to the therapeuticar senal in force. Applying a principle of cure that stimulates the organism to react against itsinfirmity (similitude principle) and increasing the value of the sick individuality in its aspects  bio-psycho-social-spiritual, the homeopathic model favours the relation doctor-patient and motivates the holistic thought in the comprehension of the complex phenomenon of the human sickening, propitiating a therapeutic of low cost, free of the adverse effects of the modern medicines, and which increases the clinical resolutiveness of the chronic diseases in general.
