Fibromyalgia is a very a common pain condition. It is characterized by the presence of pain widely referred to the
muscles. It is more frequent in female and adults. May be associated with fatigue, headaches irritable colon, syndrome intersticial, cystitis etc. Patients present anxiety, depression and muscle tender points. The complementary exams are normal in primary of fibromialgia and may reveal hyoer ou hypothireoidism, diabetes in cases of secundary fibromyalgia. The treatment is based in the prescription of psycotrophics, miorelaxants, antiinflammatory analgesic drugs, opioids , physical medicine and psychoaterapy. The implant of pumps for intrathecal infusion of analgesics may be necessary in cases refractory to clinical treatment.
