Pain is very frequenty in children and adolescents. There are evidences that it is present during fetus life. The
evaluation of pain in pediatrics is based in physiological, behaviour and auto-description of the feeling. The methods for evaluation should be adapted to the phase of the development. The most commom cause of acute pain in pediatrics is external or internal traumatisms. The chronic or recurrent pain conditions are mainly represented by muscle-skeletal and visceral abnormalities and headaches.
