Pain in the dorsal region may results from many conditions. The muscle-skeletal diseases specially the regional myofascial pain syndromes, the inflammatory, degenerative, tumoral or congenital spinal abnormalities, followed by the thoracic visceral diseases and seldom by neuropathies are the reasons of the occurrence of dorsalgias. The clinical history, the physical and psychological findings and the laboratorial exams allow the diagnosis in the majority of the cases. The removal of the causal agents and the use of analgesic inflammatory agents, opioids, psychotropics, myorrelaxants, physical medicine and, when necessary, the functional neurosurgical, orthopedic or thoracic surgical procedures alleviates the pain in the majority of the cases.
