Improving child development contributes to build healthier and fairer societies. This study aims to share a training experience that focuses on child development in light of health promotion. It consists in a study case based on documental analysis related to this training process in five municipalities in Sao Paulo. We have described eight main areas: antenatal care, delivery care, puerperium, child care, pregnant families, daycare, parental guidance and playful places. We concluded that these topics are a common thread in the training to promote an amplified
care for children and their families.
