Abstract

Ninety years after the discovery of the illness of Chagas, for Carlos Chagas in set of exemplary scientific inquiries that had materialize the basic aspects of the disease, this endemic disease continues, sadly, still prominent in Latin American countries, over ali in virtue of the lack of greaters and better preventive steps on the part of some governmental sectors. In Brazil they had had place in relatively recent phase adequate measures that had become wellless expressive the transmission of the Trypanosoma cruzi. We long for that they continue and they are imitated by other nations. It's important to remember, by the way, that the success was due to will politics, to the programming elaborated for competent professionals and to the persistence, not influenced for the governing changes. In the State of São Paulo, in particular, the vectorial transmission the human beings was burst since the beginning of the decade of 80, practically occurring the disappearance of the domiciliary infestation for Triatoma infestans (Souza, AG; Wanderley, D.m.v.; Buralli, G.M.M & Andrade, J .C.R. Consolidation of the control of Chagas' disease in the State of São Paulo. (Mem.
Inst. Oswaldo Cruz, 79 (supl.): 125-132, 1984). In this context the alternative modalities of transmission of the T. deserve detached attention cruzi, inasmuch as ahead of the cooling of the propagation through triatorníneos they contribute effectively for the sprouting of new acometimentos, having therefore to have, with rapidity and objetividade, proposal of pertinent prophylactic proposals. Therefore, the Institute of Tropical Medicine of São Paulo decided to promote " Meeting on referring prevention to the alternative modalities of transmission ofthe Trypanosoma cruzi ", with the purpose to point behaviors currently had as recommendable, as communications in charge of some guests able to cooperate effectively. We were the organizers of the event, carried through in day 16 of October of 1998 and supported by the Department of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine of the São Paulo Association of Medicine, for the Brazilian Society of Tropical Medicine, for the Medical Society Ítalo-Brazilian and the São Paulo Society of lnfectologia. The emitted opinions are in this review, always endorsed in point-of-sight personal, justifications and bibliography. They represent, if at least to succeed valuation of the set, realistic contribution for adoption of incisive actions regarding alternative components, before wrongly under determined itens friction as bonanza, operating in the dissemination of the illness of Chagas.
