Abstract

In this work I discuss the concept of the Harmony of the Spheres as initially put forward by the Pythagoreans. Starting from the fragments of Philolaus and Aristotle’s descriptions on the Pythagorean thought, I sketch a general scheme of the Pythagorean concepts about number, universe and musical consonances, and later discuss how they were melted into the concept of the Harmony of the Spheres.
