In the dossiê, contributions from different areas of knowledge supports the discussion about heritage, history of territorial occupation, and different social groups in Guarulhos. Therefore, this paper articulates data presented in the report enabling a reading of Guarulhos’s heritage and history from the colonization period to the present day and showing how the areas’ geography and history preserve the meaning of preterit histories. The main goal is to show that recovery and heritage protection depends on a wide repertoire of knowledge that allows us to make choices based on the history of the past.
