To watch and heal: an analysis of the corinthian asklepieion’s location (5th-4th Centuries BC)

The article explores the juxtaposition between health, politics and the organization of space in classical Corinth through the study of the urban asklepieion’s location in the city landscape. It argues that the sanctuary was configured as both a place for health maintenance and political education, being part of a complex of buildings that provided opportunity for the care of the self to the visitors and the reinforcement of political values dear to the Corinthian elites.
