Abstract

Abstract: The text aims at presenting an overall view of education related matter in the Brazilian Constitution of 1988. Taking as a reference the platform or those who defend a public, free, universal, laic, and democratic school, it is conclude that the advances were very limited and some historic privileges of private schools were maintained.
