Objective: To develop and validate a lifestyle assessment instrument for adults with cardiovascular disease. Methods: Study based on the construction processes of research instruments in the health area, following the stages of elaboration, content validation based on the Content Validity Index, pre-test with semantic analysis and psychometric evaluation by Cronbach's Alpha. Results: Elaboration of the Lifestyle Assessment Questionnaire for Adults with Cardiovascular Diseases (QAEV-DCV). The Content Validation Index, carried out with 11 expert judges, reached 0.96. The pre-test was carried out with 89 adults and seniors, all of whom stated that they fully understood the questions. The internal consistency of QAEV-DCV was 0.6. Conclusion: The developed instrument QAEV-DCV showed high evidence of content and semantic validity. In the psychometric analysis, the reliability index was not satisfactory according to some authors, which suggests the expansion of the application of the questionnaire.
