Abstract

The side effects of COVID-19 vaccines are increasingly being documented, including cutaneous manifestations. In this case report, we describe a 49-year-old female patient who developed pruritic, violaceous, linear lesions on her left lower limb following COVID-19 vaccination. A biopsy confirmed the diagnosis of linear lichen planus, a rare variant of the disease, which was treated with topical clobetasol, resulting in a good response. Although lichen planus has an unknown etiology, COVID-19 vaccination may act as a triggering factor, possibly due to an intense inflammatory response. Monitoring adverse effects is crucial to minimize patient discomfort and maintain confidence in mass vaccination.
