Efeitos da prática de yoga nos níveis de estresse e atenção plena durante a pandemia de COVID-19: estudo piloto com estudantes universitários

Resumo

Objetivo: avaliar os efeitos de uma intervenção de yoga presencial de 12 semanas nos níveis de estresse percebido e atenção plena. Método: um estudo de intervenção foi conduzido de setembro a novembro de 2022 com amostra formada por estudantes universitários. Os participantes realizaram práticas de yoga duas vezes por semana durante 12 semanas. As avalições foram realizadas pelos instrumentos Perceived Stress Scale (PSS-14) e pela Five Facet Mindfulness Questionnaire (FFMQ) nos momentos pré (T1) e pós-intervenção (T2). Resultados: houve diminuição significativa do estresse percebido após as práticas de yoga. Em relação a atenção plena, observou-se aumento significativo das facetas 3 (agir) e 4 (não julgar). O escore geral de atenção plena e as facetas 2 (descrever) e 5 (não reagir) apesar de não ter apresentado aumento significativo apresentou tamanho de efeito médio da diferença entre as médias após a intervenção de yoga. Houve correlação negativa e significativa entre o estresse percebido com o escore geral de atenção plena, faceta 1 (observar) 3 (agir) e 4 (não julgar). Conclusão: as práticas de yoga emergem como uma importante prática integrativa importante para a diminuição do estresse percebido e aumento da atenção plena em período críticos, como a pandemia de COVID-19.
