Enhancement and specificity: a necessary tension. The performer and philosophy as practice

The reflection proposed in this article has as its axis the relationship between theatre and philosophy, and in this respect three aspects are examined here. Firstly, considering a kind of specular game which permeates this relationship, some echoes and evocations are pointed out. Then, such a relationship is explored as an apparatus for the analysis of a tension between the search for specificity and the search for a sort of enhancement in the field of theatre studies nowadays. Later, some practices developed by some performers are associated here with spiritual practices explored by ancient western philosophy. The conclusion of the path composed in this article by three layers is carried out through a convergence in which the notion of prismatic action functions as its catalyst.Downloads
