Abstract

This article is intended to go through the paths followed by representations made about Africa in contemporary portuguese imaginary, emphasizing the mental scenarios constructed in the period preceding the assembly of the lusitanian colonial process in Africa until the present day, with the waves of immigration from Africa towards the European continent.
