This paper investigates a revolt occurred in Angola in the late nineteenth century, when it was a Portuguese colony. This research takes as reference the reports written by a veteran, published in the 1930s, in the form of an article in the Colonial Notebooks. The publication was intended to apologize Portuguese colonization in Africa. To make a counterpoint by a reading, we show the forms of resistance from the local population, mainly in the episode of cattle vaccination, with which local leaders disagreed.Downloads
