After several editions of the Marijuana March, some cannabis cups, impactful films about the failure of the war on drugs and the benefits of marijuana and, above all, after many studies and declarations of the use, it had became normal to demand changes regarding the laws on the subject in Brazil. This state of normality is recent and is the result of different fronts defending marijuana transactions. This text presents these fronts under the name “marijuanaism” and then describes how various marijuanaisms contributed to the emergence of an anti-drug prohibitionist movement. It is argued that to date this movement has a unified basis, but the current debate that emphasizes therapeutic aspects gives rise to the question that ends the article, reflecting on how long such diverse actors will maintain their unity in search of legal regulation of transactions with one or more drugs.
