O significado do trabalho em funerárias sob a perspectiva do trabalhador

Abstract

The objective of the present study was to determine the essence of the meaning of working in a funeral home from the viewpoint of the worker. Using the theoretical-methodologic referential of phenomenology it was possible, on the basis of the workers statements, to reveal facets that are part of the essence of the exercise of the profession. The workers are aware of the queasiness and discomfort created by their work for their relatives and for the society in general. This type of work is a source of worry for them because it exposes them to given that, and is painful, given that they have to deal with the human body when it has been affected in this integrity. The results represent relevant issues for the health of the workers.
