About the Journal
Focus and Scope
Saúde, Ética & Justiça is an official journal of the Department of Legal Medicine, Bioethics, Occupational Medicine, and Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of São Paulo (FMUSP). It is a peer-reviewed, semiannual, open-access journal that serves as a forum for contributions in the fields of Legal Medicine, Law, Health Ethics, Forensic Odontologia (Forensic Dentistry), Occupational Health, and related areas.
The views and concepts expressed by the authors in this journal do not necessarily reflect the official position of the institutions responsible for its publication. Authors bear sole responsibility for the drafting of the scientific text, the accuracy of the information provided, and the cited references.
The journal accepts original, unpublished manuscripts that contribute to the advancement of knowledge in legal medicine, bioethics, and related sciences. In addition to original research papers, the journal publishes review articles, essays, case reports, viewpoints, commentaries on published articles, and letters to the editors.
Manuscripts must be submitted in Microsoft Word-compatible formats, with page margins set to 3 cm on A4 paper. The text should be formatted in Times New Roman, 12-point font, with single line spacing. Illustrations and photographs must be in JPEG format with a minimum resolution of 300 dpi and submitted as files separate from the main text. Charts and graphs must be submitted as Excel files.
Manuscripts may be submitted in Portuguese, English, or Spanish. All submissions must include a title, abstract, and keywords (or descriptors) in both the original language of the manuscript and in English. All authors must be registered on the journal's website prior to submission, and every contributor must be designated as a co-author within the online submission system.

Ethical Principles
Editorial decisions by the Editors and the Editorial Board are independent and will not be influenced by revenue or funding sources.
Saúde, Ética & Justiça is committed to upholding ethical principles and is prepared to publish corrections, clarifications, and retractions whenever necessary. Regarding ethical complaints concerning any manuscript or published article, the editors will take all necessary measures to investigate allegations and issue corrections or retractions as appropriate.
