Abstract

This article aims to present and to comment Rod Serling’s path as the author of live television plays in the 1950s, reconstituting the historical context in which this means of expression was developed, some of its most important authors and achievements, as well as Serling’s artistic and political intentions; in addition to his style from the narratological point of view, and the problems and restraints he faced, which led him to other area of television practice, the one related to the series Twilight Zone, in which he performed as creator, author, host and executive producer, since 1959.
