The aim of this essay is the relationship between the subject and the visual image. Based on Narcissus's myth, the fascination with the visual image is examined. If the fascination with his own image reflected in a spring killed Narcissus, in another myth force and vigour killed "Belerofonte" Both, force and vigour, are elements of the image fascination. The psychoanalytic theory, and its construct about subject constitution is the support to suggest the link between image and subject. Finally, the fascination of the image is seen like a desire, an ideal, an illusion.Downloads
