Abstract

The study of sound effect tracks developed by Walter Murch during the 70's is the subject ofthis article, with special attention to bis work in The Godfather and Apocalypse Now. It is also my aim to demonstrate, through these films analyzes, Murch's role in the transformation of the north-american fiction films sound design.
