A metáfora psicológica de Sigmund Freud: neurologia, psicologia e metapsicologia na fundamentação da psicanálise

Este artigo retoma o problema da relação entre a obra neurológica e a obra psicanalítica de Freud e do grau de continuidade ou de ruptura que é possível estabelecer entre elas. Ele aborda, primeiro, as evidências da persistência da referência neurológica no período mais tipicamente psicanalítico da produção freudiana, procurando mostrar que essa referência não é circunstancial ou episódica, mas está sempre relacionada a desenvolvimentos importantes das ideias metapsicológicas. Num segundo momento, são discutidas algumas passagens em que supostamente Freud estaria reiterando o abandono de seu projeto inicial de formular uma teoria neurológica da mente. Procuramos argumentar que Freud reitera nessas passagens tão somente sua recusa da teoria das localizações cerebrais, que data dos primórdios de seu pensamento. A originalidade da psicanálise freudiana não residiria, então, na formulação de uma teoria exclusivamente psicológica da mente consciente e inconsciente, mas na construção de modelos teóricos não-isomórficos da relação mente-cérebro, que constituem o cerne da teoria do aparelho psíquico, com todas as formulações metapsicológicas a ela relacionadas.Downloads
