Resumen

Mark Devenney es profesor de la Universidad de Brighton y codirector del Centre for Applied Philosophy, Politics and Ethics (CAPPE). Autor de Ethics and Politics in Contemporary Theory (2004) y Towards an Improper Politics (2020), Devenney contribuye al debate internacional con un trabajo que renueva la tradición posmarxista. En esta entrevista, ofrece una lectura crítica del alcance y los límites de la teoría populista en el ámbito del pensamiento posfundacional. El autor defiende la centralidad de la propiedad y de las herencias coloniales en las lógicas políticas contemporáneas. La entrevista presenta también reflexiones sobre Brasil, analizando las tensiones entre el lulismo, la extrema derecha y las resistencias democráticas.

    Pós-doutorando em Sociologia no Instituto de Estudos Sociais e Políticos da Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro (IESP/UERJ), com bolsa CNPq. Doutor em Sociologia pela Universidade Federal de Pernambuco (PPGS/UFPE). Atua na área de sociologia política, com pesquisas sobre violência coletiva, movimentos sociais e teoria crítica.

    Mark Devenney é Professor de Teoria Crítica na Universidade de Brighton (Reino Unido) e codiretor do Centre for Applied Philosophy, Politics and Ethics (CAPPE). Doutor pela Universidade de Essex, é autor de Ethics and Politics in Contemporary Theory (Routledge, 2004) e Towards an Improper Politics (Edinburgh University Press, 2020).
