Résumé

Cet article propose une réflexion sur les nouvelles conceptualisations du travail de care dans une économie du care en expansion. Ces nouvelles conceptualisations du care mettent en évidence l'hétérogénéité et les hiérarchies du travail de care, identifiant des inégalités multiples et complexes, tant parmi les aidants à domicile qu'entre les aidants des différents domaines de l'économie du care. Les pratiques de care sont théorisées non seulement comme du travail, mais aussi comme de la résistance. Cette recherche met en évidence les différentes conceptions relationnelles du care et du caring, ainsi que l'éventail des activités et des relations sociales impliquées dans le soutien des personnes, au quotidien et entre générations. Conceptualiser et cartographier l'économie du care est fondamental pour identifier les lacunes en matière de protection, lutter contre les inégalités et les conditions d'emploi, ainsi que pour revaloriser le care et exploiter pleinement le potentiel d'organisation et de création d'alliances politiques.

    Associate professor in the Department of Sociology at Wayne State University, USA. She obtained her phd in 1987 from the University of Wisconsin-Madison,  USA.
