Blood pressure of dogAbstract
The indirect auscultatory method of blood pressure measurement was evaluated in 50 clinically normal dogs aged from 1 to 9 years. Systolic pressure ranged from 110 to 170 mmHg. The mean and standarddeviation values were 136,70 ± 14,23 nmHg. There were no significant differences between the means of males and females systolic pressures, and a tendency of elevation of the systolic pressure with the age was observed. The auscultatory method prooved to be efficient in systolic pressure measurement. However, this method was not suitable for diastolic pressure
measurement.
