Abstract

This study surveyed and analyzed legal cases of moral harassment in the state of Espírito Santo. For this purpose, all cases brought to trial in the Regional Labor Court of ES were analyzed for content of judgments. It was possible, therefore, to describe characteristics of lawsuits as well as to group variables according to their nature. For this purpose, we documented content analysis for a better understanding of the facts and incidence of absolute and relative values. As such, a characterization was obtained for all cases from the entire state of Espírito Santo and variables involved were identified, such as jurisdiction of the proceedings, duration of each case, appraisal of lawsuit merits, levels of court decisions, type of company where harassment had occurred, method of aggression, gender of both aggressor and victim, and meaning of bullying. It was also noted that many doubts exist about legal procedures for those who consider themselves victims of bullying in organizations
