Abstract

This study investigates the phenomenon of the celebritization of politics in the Brazilian public debate through the case of Bruno Aiub, known as "Monark". It analyzes how the former Flow Podcast host transitioned from entertainment to political activism, adopting an anti-politics discourse and consolidating himself as a digital far-right influencer following statements that relativized Nazism. The research employs Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) to monitor victimization strategies on the @MonarkBanido profile on X (formerly Twitter) between 2023 and 2025. The results indicate that cancellation and institutional sanctions were resignified as mobilization tools and a narrative of persecution. This work contributes to discussions on the boundaries of freedom of speech, hate speech, and the role of platforms in projecting new political actors in the contemporary landscape.
