Abstract

In partiaI foot amputation, the more used prothetic solution is the anterior fulfillmentnto of the shoe, adapted to insole or ankle-foot orthos is (AFO). However in a functional and aesthetic point of view, this solutions are not satisfactory. Usually, occurs skin lesions on the stump and defonnities on shoe when AFO is not used. The tibio-tarsic articulotion remains rigid when is used AFO. This paper analyse the positive and negative issues of prothetization at this amputation level. Five mole patients, with partia l foot amputation, underwent clinical and gait analysis. Gait analysis was made by recording of the side-view and interpretation in professional videocassette. The gait parameters analysed was: cadence, step and s tride lenght, and velocity. The prothetic solution of AFO with anterior fulfilment seemed us to be a good biomechanical solution
