Tratamento da lombalgia crônica pela inativação de pontos-gatilho miofasciais: experiência da Divisão de Medicina Física da FMUSP

Low back pain is one of the most frequent cause of disability. This study presents the protocol and evaluation of the therapeutic effects using trigger point injections to treat chronic low back pain on a group of 25 pacients, 8 males and 17 females that did not respond to conventional approach. The results showed statistically significant improvement in pain intensity and dolorimetry. The authors concluded that trigger point injection is a efficient therapeutic method of chronic low back pain treatment when others fail.
