Abstract

To evaluate the impact of the Senior Dance training on the health of the elderly based on the SF-36 quality of life questionnaire. 103 literate individuals were selected with a minimum age of 60. They participated in the Senior Dance for sixty minutes once a week for four months. The questionnaire was applied at the outset and the completion of their participation. Through the statistical probabil-ity analysis of the non-parametric Wilcoxon test, we observed a significant increase in the score for all the components evaluated by the SF-36 (p < 0.001) comparing the initial and final results of their participation in the Senior Dance. Based on the parameters evaluated by the SF-36, we concluded that the Senior Dance was an efficient therapeutic possibility in the improvement of older people’s quality of life.
