Abstract

This research deals with the effects of maleic hydrazide (MH) on the development of the hedge of Murraya panicutata Jack. The hedge was sprayed with MH in May after having been pruned in April. Concentrations of MH 500, 750, 1000, 1250 ppm, and check treatment, were applied. The hedge was pruned again in September, and it was determined the dry weight of the foliage obtained in the treatments. Treatments with MH 500 and 750 ppm did not difer the development of the foliage in relation to control. Application of MH 1000 and 1250 ppm promoted a significant decrease in the vegetative growth of the plant.
